What you can 3D print
3D printing for product design, models and display
FDM 3D printing for appearance models, packaging mock-ups, ergonomics studies, props and costume parts, display fittings and scale models.
What changes
On appearance parts the surface is what people notice. FDM leaves layer lines; a finer layer height and a sanded, painted or clear-coated finish take most of them away. If you need a mirror-smooth surface at very small scale, get in touch before you order.
Typical parts
Product appearance models, packaging and box mock-ups, hand-tool ergonomics studies, retail and display fittings, architectural and scale models, props, master patterns.
Information: Good to know
Colour and surface vary slightly between filament batches. If several parts must match exactly, order them together.
Whether a printed part suits your application is yours to judge; we make it to your file and the options you choose.
Common questions about this
Will the layer lines show?
FDM leaves layer lines. A finer layer height and a sanded, painted or clear-coated finish take most of them away. If you need a mirror-smooth surface at very small scale, get in touch before you order.
Will several parts match in colour exactly?
Colour and surface can vary slightly between filament batches. If parts must look identical, order them together.
Can you print a short pre-launch run?
Yes. Choose a quantity and the unit price falls according to the plate layout, shown in the quote. Runs of a few dozen suit FDM well; at very high volumes an injection mould usually becomes cheaper.
